The 2019 Academic Annual Meeting of Anhui Paleontological Society was held in Tianzhushan

From October 31st to November 2nd, 2019, the 2019 Academic Annual Meeting of Anhui Provincial Paleontological Society held in Tianzhushan. The theme of the conference is "New Progress in the Research and Protection of Paleontological Fossils and Geoheritage in the New Era", Summarized and discussed the progress of relevant research and protection recent years, to further promote discipline construction and achievement transformation, and better serve the society. The meeting was attended by more than 120 member representatives, experts, scholars and heads of relevant parties from universities and institutions.

The conference was hosted by Anhui Paleontological Society, Jiangsu Paleontological Society, Henan Paleontological Society, Hubei Paleontological Society and China Paleontological Fossil Conservation Foundation Science Popularization Special Committee, and organized by Anhui Geological Museum, Tianzhushan Geopark Management Committee and Qianshan Natural resources and Planning Bureau.

The conference received 25 papers or abstracts, and 18 experts, scholars and representatives made reports at the conference. Wang Yuanqing, a researcher of the Institute of Paleovertebra and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an important researcher of "Qianshan Fauna", was specially invited to make a speech for the conference. During the meeting, the delegates went to Tianzhushan granite landform, Tianzhushan Geological Museum, and some fossil origins of buried hill fauna to conduct field research and on-site discussions.
