From September 8 to 12, 2025, the 11th Global Geoparks Conference was grandly held in Temuco, Chile. With the theme of “Technology-Driven and Digital Innovation Empowering the Sustainable Development of Geoparks,” the Jiuhuashan Global Geopark delegation was invited to attend. During the conference, the delegation focused on showcasing the park’s development achievements and meeting evaluation requirements, while steadily deepening international professional exchanges.

During the conference, the delegation actively participated in various thematic seminars. Through setting up special exhibition booths, distributing promotional materials, and conducting on-site presentations and Q&A sessions, they presented the geological value and development appeal of Jiuhuashan to global participants in an intuitive manner. Meanwhile, based on the thematic report on Jiuhuashan, delegation members systematically demonstrated the park’s practical experience and innovative achievements in geological heritage protection, science popularization and education activities, and promoting the sustainable economic development of surrounding areas.

In addition, the delegation strictly followed the conference charter and procedures, actively participated in the Global Geoparks General Assembly and election ceremony, conscientiously fulfilled the responsibilities of member units, and contributed to the standardized development of the global geopark initiative.

During the conference, the delegation also communicated with the President of the Global Geoparks Network, Nikolaos Zouros, the President of the Korean Geoparks Network, Lee Su-jae, as well as experts from the National Geoparks Network Center, listening to valuable experiences and suggestions regarding the park revalidation process.

Through this participation in the conference in Chile, the park’s development achievements were fully demonstrated on the international stage. It further broadened the vision of Jiuhuashan in the construction and management of global geoparks, and played a positive role in enhancing its international influence and supporting the park’s revalidation work in 2026.
