Jiuhuashan UNESCO Global Geopark Implements "Tree Chief System" to Protect "Green Living Cultural Relics"

In recent years, Jiuhuashan UNESCO Global Geopark has innovatively implemented a "Tree Chief System" for the protection of ancient and notable trees. Through multiple measures such as registration, insurance, and expert support, the geopark has comprehensively strengthened the conservation of these ancient and notable trees, breathing new life into the "green living cultural relics."

It is reported that the geopark has produced unified ID cards for 408 ancient and notable trees, recorded them in the national management information system, and purchased insurance at an annual premium of RMB 100 per tree. Meanwhile, in collaboration with expert teams from Anhui Agricultural University and Nanjing Forestry University, the geopark has adopted a "one tree, one strategy, one tree, one file" approach for key ancient and notable trees such as the Phoenix Pine and the Welcome Pine. With meticulous care, professional teams and dedicated on-site personnel ensure the normalization of routine conservation efforts.
