In recent years, the geopark has implemented the sewage upgrading project, including the Kecun sewage treatment plant and Jiuhua Street sewage treatment plant, which has promoted the sewage discharge standard from the current grade B standard to grade A standard. "The completion of the sewage upgrading project will further improve the geopark infrastructure construction,significantly reduce the discharge of pollutants into the Yangtze River, effectively improve the geopark's ecological environment and people's quality of life, and promote the sustainable development of tourism economy."
