From August 9 to 11, a delegation from Gansu Linxia UNESCO Global Geopark visited Jiuhuashan UNESCO Global Geopark for an exchange program, culminating in the signing of a sister-park agreement. Wu Jingang, Deputy Director of Jiuhuashan Administrative Committee and Deputy Director of Jiuhuashan National Geopark, and Ma Xu, Deputy Director of Linxia Geopark Service Center, formalized the partnership. This marks Jiuhuashan’s 10th sister-park alliance following prior collaborations such as with Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark.

The agreement aims to strengthen mutual cooperation in park management, geoheritage conservation, scientific research, public education, and sustainable development strategies. During their visit, the delegation toured Tiantai Scenic Area, Jiuhua Street, Grand Wish Cultural Park, Geopark Museum, Huatai Scenic Area, and key geological sites. They examined Jiuhuashan’s advanced approaches in post-UNESCO designation initiatives—including geoheritage protection, signage systems, science communication, and leveraging UNESCO status for local economic sustainability—commending the park’s comprehensive conservation and management achievements. Both parties pledged to deepen exchanges and establish a model for sister-park collaboration.
