From August 12 to 14, Li Xin, Director of Climber Nature Education Center, led a five-member team from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) to Jiuhuashan UNESCO Global Geopark for a rainy-season hydrological field survey in small watersheds. Supported by staff from the Environmental Resources Protection Department (Geopark Management Office), the team monitored water systems across Jiuhuashan, Qingtong River, and Laba River watersheds. They collected over 30 field water samples and preprocessed 210 samples in laboratories, establishing critical data for studying granite chemical weathering processes.

The researchers highly commended Jiuhuashan’s conservation of hydrological resources and biodiversity, as well as its science outreach programs. They committed to sustained collaboration in research and educational activities to further translate scientific findings into practical applications for the geopark.
