On September 26, Xue Hong, Member of the Party Committee and Chief Engineer of Shennongjia National Park Administration, and Ma Zhanwei, Director of Kunlunshan Geopark Management Service Center, formalized a sister-park agreement between Shennongjia and Kunlunshan UNESCO Global Geoparks. The signing ceremony followed substantive discussions where Dai Guangming, Deputy Director of Shennongjia National Park Administration, outlined Shennongjia's geopark management framework, while Kunlunshan delegates shared expertise in conservation planning and scientific outreach.
During their visit, Kunlunshan representatives conducted field exchanges with Shennongjia counterparts at Guanmenshan, Shennongding, and Dajiuhu Lake areas, examining practical approaches to geoheritage conservation, earth science education, and community-based sustainable development.
This partnership aims to facilitate mutual learning in resource management innovation and protection methodologies. Both geoparks commit to long-term collaboration in park administration, academic research, geological expeditions, science education, and sustainable resource utilization—advancing shared commitments to UNESCO's sustainable development principles.
