From October 30 to November 1, Jiuhuashan Scenic Area welcomed a specialized panel of ancient tree conservation experts dedicated to safeguarding its botanical treasures. Upon arrival, the team immediately commenced rigorous assessments, first reviewing comprehensive reports from the Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Resources Bureau detailing current preservation measures and challenges.

The experts then embarked on field inspections across forested areas, meticulously examining trunk integrity, foliage vitality, and root systems of each heritage tree. Through collaborative diagnostics, they identified species-specific concerns—noting weakened growth patterns in some specimens and disease vulnerabilities in others. Their preliminary evaluation acknowledged Jiuhuashan’s substantial investments in conservation funding and effective implementation protocols.

Critical recommendations emerged from the assessment: nutrient enhancement through soil amendment and precision fertilization for compromised trees; eco-friendly integrated pest management plans prioritizing biological controls; and tailored conservation strategies for landmark specimens like the Phoenix Pine, Guest-Greeting Pine, and Taibai Ginkgo under the "One Tree, One Policy" framework. These science-based interventions aim to fortify tree resilience while maintaining ecological balance.

This expert engagement injects renewed scientific rigor into Jiuhuashan’s heritage tree preservation, ensuring these living monuments endure as natural legacies for future generations.
