Jiuhua Town
Jiuhua Town, as a core scenic area and tourist center of Jiuhuashan Global Geopark, covers an area of about 12.3 km2 and holds resident population of over 3,740 people. The Buddhism culture here dates back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty (A.D.401)And now, the Jiuhua Town is full of temples, and hailed as Buddhist Country of Lotus Flowers. It is a famous tourist town with Chinese features because of unsophisticated, orderly and graceful Huizhou architecture.
The terrain of Jiuhua Town is a typical structure of mountain-valley-basin". The east side is towering Jiuhua ridge with an altitude of 1200m, the middle is the sequestered Minyuan Canyon with an altitude of about 450m, the west side is intermountain basin composed of toruliform ponds featuring a paleo-cirque with an average altitude of 650m, and teemed with high ancient trees. The magmatic rock body here is Qingyang-Jiuhua bimodal granite.
