The coupdepoing of granite (Kwan-yin Peak)

The granite forms the landscape of coupdepoing which is round for body and sharp for the top by the effect of chemical weathering, rain erosion and uneven collapse. The coupdepoing at this point is 7m high, the diameter of the bottom is 3m, it is composed of the K-feldspar granite with medium size, its bottom is connected with the stone peak in the shape of board column for which it is like the "goddess of mercy".

Because of the different joint density in weathering zone, the weathering front is irregular, and under the effect of weathering and water transportation stone pillars, Stone Cones and Stone eggs formed.Weathering products were transported to valleys by running water and gravitational collapse, and then Stone Pillars, Stone Cones and Stone Eggs outcropped to the surface, and formed the shape like today further.
