To fully implement UNESCO’s core requirements for “community engagement and sustainable development” in global geoparks, onJuly 18, Jiuhuashan Global Geopark systematically planned and advanced the construction of its partner network, organizing the “Path to Win-Win” series of visits and research activities. The team conducted on-site studies in key areas including Kecun, Laotianwu Village, and Lianhua Town to gain a deep understanding of tourism services, eco-agritourism, and cultural creative consumption development. The activities aimed to actively establish a healthy mechanism of “resource sharing, joint development, and mutual benefit,” promoting a deep integration of the geopark brand effect with community development.
That evening, the “Path to Win-Win · Night Forum” was held at the Laotianwu Ancestral Hall. The forum provided a systematic introduction to the concept, application criteria, empowerment pathways, and management measures for global geopark partners, widely soliciting opinions and suggestions from community business operators and residents. In-depth exchanges were conducted on topics such as visitor guidance, service quality enhancement, brand promotion, and green low-carbon initiatives. During the forum, both sides reached preliminary consensus on cooperation directions including building low-carbon demonstration communities, cultivating “geopark-friendly homestays,” and promoting the integration of local cultural creativity, thereby forming broad joint forces to advance “geopark + community” collaborative development.
This event represents an important practice for Jiuhuashan Global Geopark to deepen multi-party collaboration and build a high-quality community partnership network, laying a solid foundation for the upcoming global geopark reassessment. Moving forward, the Geopark will continue to visit areas such as Jiuhua Street and Jiangjun Village, further improve the partner system, expand cooperation opportunities, and establish a geopark model exemplifying “protection first, joint construction and sharing, common prosperity,” comprehensively enhancing public participation, service impact, and international visibility, thus promoting high-quality development of the Geopark in synergy with community revitalization.
