On the evening of March 13, the first 2026 “Splendid Jiuhua · Cultural Journey” Nighttime Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Showcase was grandly launched at the North Gate Square of Jiuhuashan UNESCO Global Geopark. Integrating traditional ICH culture with modern stage design, the event presented visitors with an immersive cultural feast.
The performance opened with the dance “Shengshi Yange” (Banquet Songs of a Flourishing Era). This was followed by a series of
Fantastic programs, including the Jiuhua folk song “Jiuhua Tea Song,” the hand lion dance “Peace and Prosperity,” and Huangmei Opera “Couple Watching the Lanterns,” vividly showcasing the distinctive charm of local culture.
Songs such as “As You Wish,” “I Love You, China,” and “Where Peach Blossoms Bloom,” together with the dance “A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains,” delivered an exceptional audio-visual experience through refined and expressive performances.
The finale featured the traditional ICH fire-pot performance “Flames Dancing Across the Sky,” which instantly ignited the audience’s enthusiasm. Brilliant sparks illuminated the night sky over Jiuhua, pushing the atmosphere to its climax.
Through a rich combination of dance, folk songs, opera, traditional customs, and ICH techniques, this nighttime showcase not only brought intangible cultural heritage to life in the evening setting, but also enabled visitors to deeply appreciate the profound cultural heritage and unique folk traditions of Jiuhuashan UNESCO Global Geopark.
The event concluded successfully amid warm applause and lingering excitement, adding a vivid highlight to the integrated development of culture and tourism in Jiuhuashan UNESCO Global Geopark.
