The unveiling of the Yimeng Mountain Global Geopark and the Global Geopark Construction and Development Seminar was successfully held in Linyi, Shandong from April 26 to April 28.Rich and varied activities were held during the event, such as Tiktok Competition, Yimengshan Global Geopark Unveiling Stele, Yimeng Mountain Intangible Heritage Exhibition, China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and Yimengshan Global Geopark Administration Teaching and Research Base Signed and Unveiled, Global Geopark Construction and Development Seminar, Yimeng Mountain Global Signing contracts with sister parks of the Geopark, field trips to the Yimengshan Global Geopark, etc. Hundreds of leaders and guests, experts and scholars, media reporters and representatives of the Global Geopark entered Yimengshan Global Geopark to appreciate the beauty of Yimeng Mountain's billion-year geology.
The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Han Jijiang, Deputy Secretary-General of Linyi Municipal Government. Zhang Yulan, Deputy Mayor of Linyi Municipal People’s Government, delivered a welcome speech. Liu Yuan, first-level inspector of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, Ma Shizhong, chief engineer of the Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources, and Wang Guosheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of China University of Geosciences (Beijing), and vice president Wang Guosheng delivered speeches respectively. Zhang Yulan and Wang Guosheng unveiled the China University of Geosciences (Beijing) Yimeng Mountain Global Geopark Teaching Practice Base.
Following guests jointly unveiled the monument to Yimeng Mountain Global Geopark: Liu Yuan, First Class Inspector of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, Ma Shizhong, Chief Engineer of Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources, Zhang Yulan, Deputy Mayor of Linyi City Government, Wang Guosheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Department of Mineral Resources Protection and Supervision, Ministry of Natural Resources First-level investigator Li Xiangju, Director of Natural Reserve Management Division of Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources Lu Dong, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor Wu Fadong of China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Director of Administration of Yimengshan Global Geopark.
After the ceremony, the leading guests visited the Yimeng Mountain Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, the Yimengshan Global Geopark Museum, and visited the Pingyi Tianyu Natural Museum in the afternoon. Intangible heritage elements light up the monument unveiling event of Yimengshan Global Geopark. The intangible heritage exhibition site gathered 39 intangible heritage projects and more than 70 inheritors for display and performance. Willow weaving, guqin, turning flowers, Chinese knots, paper-cutting... The wonderful live performance won the applause of tourists and attracted everyone to experience the charm of traditional culture. Hand embroidery, picking flowers, pyrography gourd, dough sculpture, pancake flowers... Exquisite works show off the intangible cultural heritage skills, set off the atmosphere of the event, and become a highlight of the monument unveiling ceremony.
