Amid spring breezes and nature’s renewal, Jiuhuashan Scenic Area orchestrated a series of Arbor Day activities for youth, spearheaded by its Youth League Committee, Development Planning Department, Caring for the Next Generation Committee, and Young Pioneers. Designed to cultivate environmental stewardship, these initiatives immersed students in hands-on tree planting while deepening their understanding of ecological conservation.
Under the banner "Planting Green," students ventured to hillsides opposite their schools armed with shovels and buckets. Guided by staff, they collaboratively dug holes, steadied saplings, backfilled soil, and watered newly planted peach trees that now stand as emerald sentinels in the spring sunlight. Parallel home-based planting saw families selecting saplings and enriching their courtyards, blending horticultural education with intergenerational bonding.
The "Make Friends with Watering" campaign mobilized students to nourish trees across campuses and communities as temperatures rose. Armed with watering cans, they delivered life-sustaining hydration to greening landscapes, transforming routine care into joyful ecological guardianship.
Classrooms became sustainability hubs during themed sessions titled "Trees, You, and Us." Through sharing planting experiences, debating environmental knowledge, and exploring human-plant symbiosis, students pledged to champion eco-actions in daily life.
The "Tree Selfies" initiative captured youthful connections with nature—students photographed embracing trees in schoolyards, farmlands, and roadside groves, freezing verdant moments in time.
This multi-faceted program transcended mere arboriculture practice, instilling profound appreciation for afforestation’s role in ecosystem restoration. United efforts promise greener, more vibrant futures for campuses and communities alike.
